Non-bacterial thrombotic endocarditis in the right atrium caused by pectus excavatum

An interesting case where a "tumor" was removed from a 4 year old girl's heart which was actually just a recurrent thrombus brought on by the compression from the excavatum."

Pathological findings showed that NBTE caused by an operative scar on the endocardium of the right atrium and sustained rheological stress in the right atrium due to compression from pectus excavatum lead to recurrent thrombus formation."
