Two summers ago, Carmosino, who is a 6-foot-4 guard, was an up-and-coming player in the Sentinels’ program who impressed head coach Joe Bennett and assistant/junior varsity coach Mike Tartaglia with his exceptional play as a “tweener” for the varsity and junior varsity squads during his sophomore year.
But it was that summer when Carmosino, who was playing at a camp at Providence College, saw his basketball career take a sudden timeout.
“I noticed that I was getting out of breath way quicker than I should have been,” he noted, “especially since I’ve been playing a lot during AAU. And my heart was beating super fast. Something wasn’t right.”
